Illyria is a young artist and literally the “girl next door” as she lives in the house adjacent to my apartment. We share a wall, and can often hear each other and our gamut of emotions.
Athena is the Greek goddess of wisdom, warfare, and the arts. Illyria mentioned her study of Athena to me a year earlier, and the link between the two has grown in my heart since then. They both are highly intelligent, creative and possess a defiant spirit. Illyria is depicted here with the helmet of Athena upon her head as Athena herself and her owl gaze with reverence upon her from another world. They are one in the same, girl and spirit, young soul and old soul.
