"Poseidon is the god of the sea, rivers and horses. Here he is depicted in a modern sense, as young man in contemporary clothes. This portrait finds Poseidon in front of a flowing body of water that culminates in an abrupt waterfall into a bottomless abyss, over which three sirens keep guard.
Poseidon had a son, Cyclops Polyphemus, whose identifying physical characteristic was his single eye. His pose here foreshadows the mythical progeny." Painted in 2017. Part 2 of the Mythical portrait series with Athena.
